We haven`t been on lately as Ollie has been very sick with Shingles, it has really knock the stuffing out of him, so we haven`t been out in the van. We were hoping to get out for a couple of days over the weekend but he`s still not fit enough. So I've been cooking up a couple of recipes that can be cooked in the tiny kitchen of a campervan and hopefully be showing more, Here's the link to the playlist.. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlEb4_ogB0YyDAUJvEMu-PJlAtXR7yfp5  . Also I made a video with some Q&A`s so if you would like to watch that you can find it in this Link.. https://youtu.be/x-Ewaenongw

That`s it for today, will chat to you later. X

We had a lovely morning visiting the Famine Village on Slea Head Drive, Dingle. We got to feed the animals and I was especially excited about the sheep. It really is a great place to visit and a very good entry price of €5 and you get food to feed the animals and your children will love it. It shows the famine times with real life looking dolls. While only took Bruno the Pug to the vets I cooked Italian Pasta. We found a lovely pub stop at Butlers bar, in Firies, County Kerry. The bar staff and local are so friendly and all the like you to do is buy a couple of pints for a free Park Up. Watch our vista, cooking and pub stop at the links below.

"After a short stroll—just a minute’s walk from the caravan park—we returned to the Glenbeigh Hotel for dinner. Ollie tucked into a hearty plate of battered fish and chips, golden and crisp, which he thoroughly enjoyed for €21. I went for the pulled pork in a warm ciabatta, topped with a tangy tomato relish and served with delicious hand-cut chips, also €21. With our appetites satisfied, we made our way back to the van to relax and unwind, ready for an early night so we’d be fresh to hit the road tomorrow."

What. A. Week. 🫠 Retirement was supposed to mean slowing down… but apparently not for us! 😂 Ollie suggested we escape for a couple of nights to recharge, and honestly, best idea ever.

We’re staying at Glenross Campsite in Glenbeigh, Co. Kerry — a place we’ve camped before in a tent. Such a lovely spot, and the owners couldn’t be nicer. Facilities (toilets, showers etc.) are spotless and well kept, and for campervans it’s €40 a night. Normally we prefer wild camping, but this was exactly what we needed.

Tonight we treated ourselves to dinner at The Glenbeigh Hotel, and wow did it hit the spot! 🍴✨

I had grilled salmon with mussels + a selection of veg (€24.50) and finished with pavlova topped with strawberries, grapes & fresh cream (€7.95). Both were gorgeous!

Ollie went for roast stuffed chicken with potatoes & veg (€24.50), followed by strawberry cheesecake (€7.95) — and let’s just say he was one very happy chappie 😋.

Lovely food, great value, and the friendliest staff. 💛 Highly recommend if you’re ever in Glenbeigh.

In bed, doors open and a view,  life is good

Kilkee cliffs, County Clare, Ireland

We had a very restful and beautiful couple of days away . We went to the town of Cong where the Quiet Man was filmed starring John Wayne and Maureen O`Hara, then through the Connemara mountains again to the Burren. Where we had a peaceful nights sleep on it rugged land and Ollie took me for a bite to eat at O'Donoghue's Bar and restaurant which was absolutely delicious and if ever you get the chance go visit it, as it its breath taking with its ruggedness. From there we went on to the Kilkee Cliffs absolutely amazing,. If you come to Ireland you will more then likely be told about the Cliffs of Moher which f have turned into a tourist haven and you will be charged for the privilege to see them. The Kilkee Cliffs are as amazing and in my own opinion far more breath taking and are absolutely free. They have a lovely cliff wark and plenty of Park Ups but remember to respect the area and leave no trace. Here are a few photos of our travels. If you would like to see the video including Connemara and the Burren here is the link

Final day. We stopped at Grace O'Mally's tower house and then forgot to take a photo so if we pass it again we will make sure we do.

We decided to drive through conamara and fined a Park up for the night after a busy day and look what we found.

Good morning. Left Keem bay and moved down to Keel. You can no longer Park up on Keel beach but there's the campsite or straight across from Gala shop there's a large place to Park Up for free with water facilities on the wall at the entrance. You are able to walk down and use the the campsites shower etc facilities.

While we where there, a kite festival and music festival on. The kite festival was amazing. The park up was very quite and just across the road behind the sand dunes. We recommend it for a park up and there's no limit on stop over.

Achill island

We arrived in Achill yesterday evening and decided to park up  in Keem bay. Going to sit back today, chill out and taking in the beauty and peace of it.

Keem bay and its lovely sandy beach is at the end of Achill island. It boost ample campervan parking at the top layer with only a short walk to the beach. You will be visited by the locals (sheep) who own the roads and hillsides so be careful while roaming. Keem provides some excellent hikes with a Boughey at the top of one of them. It also has a spring on near the beach for fresh clean water, small waterfalls and lush green hills. On the beach you can grab a coffee, a bite to eat and even a sauna. Here's a couple of photos Ollie and myself took while chilling outside the van.
